Mini Ice Age?

The other day I was reminded that it's the Summer season now. "Summer? What summer?" I asked in shock. It doesn't even feel like Spring, with temperatures hovering around 10C and 15C most of the time, with rain and thick clouds that block out the sun.

The weather has been very disappointing this year. The winter lasted way too long, until April, and even in June I don't go out without my down jacket. Well, most Swedes go out with much lighter clothes, but I doubt if they actually can't feel the chill. It is just a self-deceiving way to feel that Summer is already here.

The strange weather pattern actually started last Summer, which was chilly and rainy throughout. I got so depressed at the end of August that I had to take a last-minute trip to Greece to have a last chance for some natural Vitamin D in my body before the long winter set in.

Well, of course I have not lived in Sweden long enough to claim any change in climate pattern. But this article about the scientific evidence of the destruction of Gulf Stream's warming effect for Europe makes me rather concerned. Northern Europe might have already entered a mini ice age, even though the people here refuse to believe it.
